The paper reviews the ITO literature on performance effects of pricing model choice. Than authors we then show how the theory of fit can be applied as theoretical basis to investigate the alignment of company and market factors with ITO pricing models and its implications on ITO deal performance. Also, authors present their research methodology, which is based on a multi-case study approach including 60 ITO mega-deals. Major descriptive and explanatory findings of this research study, which are based on a content analysis of reports and interviews as well as on a rigorous fit analysis.
